Janus Terms of Service

Effective date: November 4, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Zytrix Studio ("we", "us"), the operator of Janus, a Discord application for verifying members and blocking alt accounts, VPNs and raids. The service includes the Janus bot, its verification page, its dashboard and its website. By adding Janus to a server, verifying with it, or using its dashboard, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Janus is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Discord Inc.

1. Who can use Janus

• You must be allowed to use Discord. That means following Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and being at least the minimum age Discord requires in your country.
• If you add Janus to a server, you confirm that you have permission to manage that server.

2. What Janus does

Janus checks members who join a server and gives the server's staff a result, a risk score and the reasons for it. The checks look for alt accounts, VPN, proxy or Tor use, raids and automated accounts. Depending on the server's settings, Janus may then give a role, ask for a CAPTCHA, quarantine, kick or ban the member.

Detection is not perfect. Shared networks such as schools or families, mobile carriers, privacy tools and VPNs can cause false positives. Clever abusers can sometimes get through. Janus is a tool that helps staff decide. It does not guarantee results.

3. If you run a server with Janus

You are responsible for:

• Your settings and decisions. Bans, kicks and roles that Janus applies under your settings are your server's actions. Review flagged members fairly, and use the appeals feature.
• Telling your members. Let them know that the server uses Janus for verification, for example in your rules or verification channel, and link to our Privacy Policy.
• Not misusing the results. Don't use Janus data to harass, dox, threaten, track or discriminate against anyone, and don't share it outside your server's moderation team.
• Your staff's access. Only give dashboard and staff roles to people you trust.

4. If you verify with Janus

• Start verification only for your own account, in a server you want to join.
• Don't try to trick verification. That includes using someone else's link, faking device data, or automating the verification page.
• If you think a decision is wrong, use the Appeal button on the verification page, or contact the server's staff.

5. What nobody may do

• Reverse engineer, overload, scrape or attack Janus, its website or its infrastructure, or try to get around its protections.
• Use Janus to break the law or Discord's rules.
• Pretend to be Janus or its team, or sell access to Janus without our written permission.
• Report security problems by attacking the service. Report them privately instead at matiasko.ferdinand@gmail.com. We welcome good-faith reports.

6. Free and paid features

Janus is free. If we ever offer paid features, the price and terms will be shown before you pay, and purchases made through Discord also follow Discord's terms for paid services.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep Janus running, but it may be down for maintenance, outages or problems with Discord or our providers. We may add, change or remove features. For major changes that affect servers, we'll give reasonable notice when we can.

8. Suspension and termination

• You can stop using Janus at any time by removing it from your server. To delete your personal data, run /privacy (see the Privacy Policy).
• We may suspend or block a user or server that breaks these terms or puts other users or the service at risk. Where it's safe to do so, we'll tell you why.

9. Ownership

The Janus name, logo, code, website and designs belong to Zytrix Studio. You may use the name and logo to tell people your server uses Janus. Your server's settings and content remain yours.

10. Disclaimers

Janus is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Janus will catch every alt account, VPN or raid, or that it will never flag a legitimate user.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. That includes lost members, lost revenue, lost data, or actions a server takes based on Janus results. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

12. Indemnity

If you run a server with Janus and your use of it, or your server's decisions, leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the effective date. For important changes, we'll also post a notice on our website and in our support server. If you keep using Janus after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Slovakia, except where your local consumer protection laws give you rights that can't be waived.
